This course is for those interested in working, or already work, as a legal support officer in a law firm, commercial entity, community organisation or the public sector. It covers the Australian legal system, court process, legal research, the law and professional rules that apply to support staff, legal computing, communication, contract law and torts.
Graduates will be equipped to gain employment as a legal assistant, legal secretary, legal support officer or assistant paralegal.
Note: Completion of a TAFE SA course does not guarantee an employment outcome. Formal requirements other than educational qualifications (eg licensing, professional registration), may apply to some occupations.
