This Agricultural Chemical Skill Set is delivered as the industry recognised ChemCert program, and is a nationally recognised short course that delivers training in chemical safety and handling using best practice methods and national standards.
Are you looking to undertake reaccreditation? - if your ChemCert accreditation is about to expire, you will need to undertake a one-day reaccreditation course within 12 months of the expiration date. If accreditation is not renewed within this timeframe you will be required to complete the full two-day course. View and apply for reaccreditation here.
Over this two-day course, you will learn how to prepare and apply agricultural chemicals as well as how to safely handle, transport and store them.
You'll also learn how to determine weather conditions suitable for spraying and manage chemical residues, as well as equipment calibration techniques and the knowledge required to limit spray drift. You'll also develop an understanding of chemical application issues, how to undertake risk assessments and record keeping requirements, as well as how to complete hazard control forms and undertake self-audit and compliance checklists.
On successful completion of this short course, you will be equipped with the skills and knowledge you need to legally use restricted chemicals as part of your normal work duties, and receive ChemCert accreditation for five years.
