Do you enjoy baking? Why not get started on your career as a qualified Baker either our 12-week course, or enrol at any time provided you have employment at a suitable industry-specific workplace.

Through both theory and practical work, this short course will give you the skills you need to begin your path to becoming a Baker.

In this course, you'll learn to make a wide range breads and pastry products. You will gain knowledge of bakery operations.

This course includes the applied maths skills needed to work in the baking industry. It also covers workplace health and safety and food safety. You'll also learn about general preparation, maintaining stores and communication skills.

On successful completion you will receive your Certificate II in Baking qualification.

Entry requirements

Applicants will be required to undertake a career conversation including a literacy and numeracy questionnaire* as part of their application. This process will take place either face to face or online depending on applicants' availability, and applicants will be fully supported throughout the process. We will be in contact after you submit your application.

*an outcome of exit level 2 in literacy and exit level 3 in numeracy is desired for entry to this course.
