Gain practical experience and knowledge in the growing civil construction industry with this 12-week entry-level course. Whether you are a school leaver or a mature-aged person looking for a career change, this course will help you develop an understanding of basic civil skills and principles, as well as expose you to common scenarios you would face on a civil site.

In this qualification, our experienced teachers will teach you how to work safely to use hand tools, power tools, and small plant and equipment. You'll learn how to plan, organise work and carry out a range of measurements and calculations, and read and interpret plans and specifications. In this course you will also and have the opportunity to undertake basic civil construction projects using basic tools, equipment and materials.

In the civil construction industry, safety is critical. This course will also provide you with the knowledge you need to work safely and sustainably in the civil industry, as well as how to apply WHS requirements, policies and procedures. You will also learn how to undertake basic levelling, simple concrete work, and repairing roads and pot holes.
