This introductory course provides an excellent insight into the dynamic, fast-paced and every-growing hospitality sector.

To succeed in this course, you will need to have a genuine passion for hospitality, be friendly and attentive and enjoy working with others. You'll also need to have great attention to detail, be able to work under pressure, and be able to read other people's needs.

This course can lead to career opportunities in the general hospitality industry, including hotels, motels and other accommodation establishments.

On successful completion of this course, you will have developed the skills and knowledge you need for a range of entry-level operational hospitality roles. You might also like to continue your studies and go on to undertake further studies at Certificate III level.

This course is also available as a traineeship, and, if you are still in school, as an Australian School-based Traineeship.

Entry requirements

Applicants will be required to undertake a career conversation including a literacy and numeracy questionnaire* as part of their application. This process will take place either face to face or online depending on applicants' availability, and applicants will be fully supported throughout the process. We will be in contact after you submit your application.

*an outcome of exit level 2 in literacy and exit level 2 in numeracy is desired for entry to this course.
