If you are looking at beginning a career within the meat industry, this eight-week, full-time course is a fantastic introduction to meat processing.
This qualification covers work activities undertaken in meat enterprises including preparing retail-ready products, wholesale meat preparation, and smallgoods production.
You will gain lots of hands-on experience and learn about butchery tools and equipment, processing meat cuts and meat products.
You will also gain valuable knowledge in workplace hygiene and sanitation, communication, first-aid and safety.
This program also includes work placement opportunities.
On successful completion of this course, you'll have the skills you need to seek employment opportunities in supermarkets, meat processing plants and butcher's shops. This course will also allow you to develop the skills and expertise you need to continue your career pathway into a AMP30815 - Certificate III in Meat Processing (Retail Butcher) apprenticeship.
