Work towards gaining a qualification in dental assisting for the work you already do.
This Certificate III-level course in Dental Assisting is designed specifically for people who are currently employed in the dental industry as a Dental Assistant and are responsible for assisting a dentist, dental hygienist, dental prosthetist, dental therapist or oral health therapist during oral health care procedures.
This course will enable you to get formally recognised for your skills and knowledge in preparing for and assisting with oral health care procedures and dental radiography, infection prevention and control policies and procedures, and assisting with general practice administration.
To achieve this qualification, you must have completed at least 350 hours of work within your current Dental Assistant role.
On successful completion of this course, you may be interested in further developing your dental assistant skills and consider undertaking the HLT45015 - Certificate IV in Dental Assisting qualification at TasTAFE.
