The Certificate IV in Business is an applied qualification. This means the student is required to clearly demonstrate practical assessment relating to most units. This either occurs in a workplace (in a paid or volunteer position) or if not available, in a simulated work environment.
Some practical assessment can be demonstrated online, but it may be necessary for you to attend a campus, where your application of skills can be physically demonstrated working with others. The workplace needs to have the scope and environment for you to make and influence decisions and manage other employees. For example, an office coordinator / manager in a small business owner with staff. This aspect of the assessment is required for you to meet competency.
Successful completion of this qualification will prepare you to seek employment across a wide range of business roles, including those with supervisory performance accountabilities. You may also like to use this qualification as a pathway for study at Diploma level, such as TasTAFE's Diploma of Leadership and Management (BSB50420).
This course is also available as a Traineeship.
