This qualification is ideal if you have successfully completed SIT30616 - Certificate III in Hospitality, SIT30116 - Certificate III in Tourism or SIT30816 - Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, and are now aiming to progress your career to a supervisory position within the Hospitality/Tourism industry.
This course focuses on middle management skills that apply to a broad range of hospitality/tourism industry operational areas including food and beverage, accommodation services, commercial cookery, retail travel and events, and will provide you with the confidence and the ability you need to continue in your career and achieve success in the Hospitality industry.
In this course, you'll learn how to manage diversity in the workplace and work effectively in hospitality service, as well as how to enhance the customer service experience. You'll also gain valuable experience in how to lead and manage people, coach others in job skills and manage conflict.
Throughout the course, you will also learn how to manage finances within a budget, effectively monitor work operations and implement and monitor work health and safety practices within a range of operational areas.
On successful completion of this course, you'll have the skills you need to seek employment in a supervisory role within the Tourism and Hospitality industry. You may also consider further study in related courses such as SIT60316 -
Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management or SIT60116 - Advanced Diploma of Travel and Tourism Management, or even go on to study at the University of Tasmania, where you can gain credit for your TasTAFE qualification and enrol in the Bachelor of Business Administration (Hospitality/Tourism 33G).
