Advance your career in today's Agriculture sector with this high-level qualification.

This course is designed to develop the planning and management skills of people currently working in the rural industry managing enterprise production units, and/or employees including farm owners, managers and agricultural service providers.

This course has a strong focus on practical skills and hands-on learning in a real-work setting, and you will develop a broad range of advanced skills and knowledge in how to manage both livestock and/or crop production. You'll also learn how to market your products and services, and prepare and monitor budgets, as well as develop farm and business plans, climate risk strategies and sustainable land strategies.

This course is offered in a workshop style format where you will attend workshops relevant to your development needs across a broad range of topics. The 2-day workshops are held every four weeks and include a range of industry experts, contemporary learning resources and reference materials, and quality take home tools in a format that suit people who are already employed in the industry.

Entry requirements

There are no entry requirements for this qualification.

To meet academic requirements for Diploma or Advanced Diploma courses, you need to successfully complete any TasTAFE course entry procedures and you also need to:

  • Have completed year 12 and provide TasTAFE with a copy of your Australian Senior Secondary Certificate of Education awarded to you by an agency or authority of a State or Territory; OR,

  • Provide TasTAFE with a copy of a qualification at Level 4 or above in the Australian Qualifications Framework that was awarded to you. This qualification must have been delivered in English; OR,

  • Complete an approved language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) assessment and display competence at or above Exit Level 3 in the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) in both literacy and numeracy.
