This nationally recognised qualification will provide you with the skills and knowledge you need to further develop your creativity and technical graphic design skills, as well as the opportunity to create a dynamic personal portfolio to use when promoting yourself to future employers.

In this course, you will develop your existing technical, creative and conceptual skills and knowledge to meet client requirements and solve a range of visual communication challenges. You'll also focus on researching visual communication history and theory to inform and develop your own graphic design practice to meet industry needs.

You will learn how to produce graphic designs for 2-D and 3-D applications, create and manipulate graphics and complex layouts, produce typographic design solutions, as well as create mass print media and multiplatform digital advertisements.

As part of the course, you will also learn how to establish, negotiate and refine a design brief, originate and develop concepts and implement design solutions for clients, as well as write persuasive copy, design digital applications and build a dynamic website.

At the end of the course, you will present a body of your own creative work, and have the skills you need to provide freelance services or even build and launch a small business website! On successful completion of this course, you will have gained a sound understanding of graphic design theory and practice, and a solid graphic design skill set that is highly valued by employers. At this level, you will have the opportunity to seek employment in junior or generalist roles within the Graphic Design industry, or you may choose to expand your skills and knowledge further by continuing on with your studies at university level.
