About this course

Learn how to work hygienically when handling food and supervising the safety of food during its storage, preparation, display, service and disposal.

This skill set is for food handling personnel or food safety supervisors working in tourism, hospitality and catering businesses with permanent or temporary kitchen premises, and smaller food preparation or bar areas. From December 2023, in Tasmania, certain food, catering and retail businesses must appoint at least one Food Safety Supervisor (FSS). The FSS must complete training:

  • With a registered training organisation (RTO)
  • In nationally recognised units of competency
  • Every 5 years
