About this course

Gain the skills you need to provide initial support to other adults who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis.

The Mental Health First Aid course is offered face to face or online, with details of options below. The training is based on guidelines developed by people with lived experience of mental health problems and health professionals working in the field.

Using a practical, evidence-based action plan, you'll learn how to provide mental health first aid for a range of mental health problems (depression, anxiety problems, psychosis, substance use) and mental health crises (suicidal thoughts and behaviours, non-suicidal self-injury, panic attacks, traumatic events, severe states of psychosis, severe effects from alcohol or other drug use, and aggressive behaviours).

On successful completion of this short course, you will receive a Statement of Attendance. If you successfully complete the online assessment component, you will also receive a three-year accreditation certificate as a Mental Health First Aider through Mental Health First Aid Australia.

This course is also accredited for 12 CPD points for Allied Health professions.
