Enhance your skills and knowledge to support people with their personal care needs.
This course is designed to follow on from our CHCSS00114 Entry into Care Roles Skill Set and would be suitable for people who may be working in disability, home and community care or as Home care support Level1, and wish to enhance their skills and knowledge to be able to support people with their personal care needs.
This training provides learners with skills and knowledge on how to correctly assist people who may be ageing or have disability to complete a range of daily living skills. These include assisting with meals, showering, assisting with continence, mobility and recognising and reporting changes in a person's support needs.
This course also teaches a strength based and reablement approach to support work and ensures support is delivered in a way that enhances the independence and preferences of the individual receiving support.
The skill set comprises one unit from the current Certificate III in Individual Support and is delivered on campus over 6 sessions.
