Get the skills you need to work safely at heights.
This nationally recognised Work Safely at Heights short course is designed to assist employers and employees in understanding the characteristics, hazards and legislative requirements needed to work safely at heights.
This one-day short course is delivered through mix of classroom-based theory and hands-on practical activities where you will learn about definitions and terminology as per the relevant Australian Standard, and industrial harness-based systems.
You'll learn about the types of fall prevention equipment and their use, and how to perform risk assessment of a work area and select the required equipment. You'll also cover suspension trauma, the roles and responsibilities of key personnel, and review case studies of unsafe work practices in alignment with relevant legislation (including the Code of Practice).
On successful completion of this short course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the unit completed, and a TasTAFE competency card to demonstrate your ability to work safely at heights.
