Certificate III in Individual Support

Individual support now has two streams, disability and ageing.

You can choose to do either stream or both* to improve your employment opportunities.

So if you are looking for a rewarding career with great job opportunities and opportunities to go further, a healthcare career is the right choice.

This course prepares you for work with the elderly or people with disabilities in the community or residential setting.

The five-month course delivered over 3 days (4 days if you choose the dual stream) is designed in consultation with industry. It includes theory and hands-on learning with organised work placement (see below) . Classes are delivered with a combination of Online and Face to Face classroom delivery.

You will:

• learn to communicate and work in health or community services,
• provide individualised support
• recognise healthy body systems
• work with diverse people
• support independence and wellbeing
• follow safe work practices
• and work legally and ethically.

* The dual stream course is offered for domestic students only

The traineeship offers the ageing stream only. For a disability traineeship, please consider the CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability
