You will learn how to support NDIS participants in everyday life, helping them achieve their goals towards greater independence. You will also increase your knowledge of the sector, learning about industry processes and required documentation.

The course covers the accredited unit VU22448 Work effectively with a national disability insurance scheme participant and includes the following topics:

  • Supporting an NDIS participant
  • Human rights approach to violence, abuse and neglect
  • NDIS participant personal safety
  • Working safely when supporting an NDIS participant
  • Completing and processing documentation
  • Working collaboratively
  • Being a direct support worker
  • Working directly with an NDIS participant

There are five weeks of classes plus 2 weeks of assessment to follow. A Statement of attainment is available upon completion of the course.
