About this course

With the Bachelor of Science (Gatton), you'll specialise in Animal and Veterinary Bioscience and learn how to manage the health of companion animals, production animals and wildlife, and monitor their social and environmental impact.

This three-year program will provide you with a biological foundation for a career in scientific research or diverse roles in the animal bioscience industry. You'll gain knowledge of biochemistry, microbiology, behaviour and genetics to learn how animals function, grow and reproduce, and how to improve their production, health and welfare.

You'll work with global industry experts to build your practical skill-set and help create farming systems that maintain ecosystems and conserve wildlife populations to enhance sustainability. You'll access the exceptional teaching and research facilities at the Gatton campus.

When you graduate, you'll have a standalone qualification and a solid foundation for a career in scientific research, the animal bioscience industry and related sectors.
