What you will learn

Conducted over six months full-time or 12 months part-time, this flexible program is designed and taught by our world-class, research-active data analytics experts. Through a flexible combination of face-to-face and digital learning, you will:

  • gain a broad, introductory knowledge of the principles underpinning big-data analytics and decision science, and their roles in society
  • build fundamental skills in applying these disciplines' methods within a chosen discipline-agriculture, bioinformatics, economics, environment, geosciences or public health
  • learn to apply critical, independent thinking to conduct sound data analysis and solve simple big-data problems.

Career pathways

You could go on to a full bachelor degree in applied data analytics, or possibly science, agricultural science, mineral geoscience or even wildlife conservation-whether to start your first career, or a rewarding new one. You might draw on your enhanced capabilities to step up in an existing role. Perhaps the qualification will help you win a well-deserved promotion.
