The Graduate Certificate in Policy Evaluation is applied, multidisciplinary, contemporary and fully online. It has a strong focus on data analytics, policy analysis, economic modelling, and communicating evidence-based policy effectively. The course is aimed at middle-level managers and professionals in industries that service the community in Canberra and Australia more widely, including the Australian Public Service, local and state governments and not-for-profit sectors aiming to influence government policy. The degree combines key concepts and practices to provide students with extensive knowledge and research skills in collecting, evaluating, and analysing evidence, undertaking modelling, and communicating the results for policy making. This degree is designed to equip policy evaluation specialists with effective and creative research and critical thinking skills to design and conduct policy evaluation activities. The degree is aimed at professionals in both government and non-government organisations providing a practical experience orientated towards career progression or career change. The design of the degree is informed by an Indigenous engagement strategy, central to the fundamental mission of the University of Canberra and includes a complex and critical issues focus relevant to the needs of a changing and dynamic public sector in Australia.
