About this course

The Immunisation (Nurse Immuniser) short course is based on the National Immunisation Education Framework for Health Professionals (2017) and has been accredited by the National body for health education Health Education Services Australia (HESA).

This course offers an optional clinical placement (organised by the student). Please note that due to the pandemic it is very difficult to secure a placement for immunisation. Students who wish to complete placement should check availability before applying for the course.

The theoretical knowledge gained in this online eLearning course prepares registered nurses to administer vaccines autonomously subject to local legislation. While this course is nationally recognised nurses working in states other than Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales should check with their local State/Territory Immunisation department to see if they allow mutual recognition.

A list of state and territory contact details can be found here.
