Students of this program will develop an in-depth understanding of the principles and theories of contemporary leadership. You will gain comprehensive knowledge of what leadership is and why it is important to organisations. You will also learn how to identify the influence leadership has in an organisational context, both positive and negative.

You will learn how to analyse and evaluate various leadership theories, models and approaches and how they impact upon employee and organisational performance. You will gain enhanced skills in giving and receiving feedback to coach and support others to maximise their workplace performance. You will become proficient in key issues related to leadership styles and be able to identify applications of effective workplace leadership. You will also become well-versed in good governance and business ethics.

Drawing on theories and empirical evidence you will devise a plan to overcome a complex personal leadership challenge. Through this process, you will gain insight into your own leadership capabilities and have the capacity to think critically and creatively to solve complex problems. You will also participate in simulations and collaborative leadership tasks which will develop your strategic thinking and analytical skills. This course will highlight the leadership qualities you already possess and how you can enhance them to become a great leader.
