What you will learn

What you will learn

Students will gain a broad understanding of the health services available to children and young people in Australia. Along with this big-picture outlook, you'll also gain specific knowledge of the theory and practice of performance and how it can be used to increase the well-being of children and young people in health settings.

Drawing on theory and facts, you'll be able to demonstrate how performance can be used to improve health outcomes for children, young people and their families who interact with the healthcare system. You'll also gain insight into how interdisciplinary health teams work and be able to critically evaluate creative programs and their efficacy in health settings.

By expanding your understanding of best-practice, you'll be able to successfully apply developmental theories that relate to children and young people within a health care context. You'll also gain an awareness of ethics and risk management when working in health care.

This course presents students with case studies across a range of interdisciplinary settings to demonstrate how programs focused on creativity and performance can be developed, implemented and evaluated. Upon completion, you'll be well-versed in developing your own project plan, and ready to take your new creative knowledge into the field.
