About this course

This course provides students with the opportunity to enhance or develop their competencies in key multidisciplinary business content areas including accounting, economics, finance, human resource management, management and marketing. It is designed for students who want to enhance their business skills and employment opportunities and can be tailored to suit individual work and career goals.

Entry requirements

A candidate
shall submit a Statement of Service for their work experience from their employer;
and

(a) hold an AQF Level 7 Bachelor qualification or above in a non-relevant discipline and at least two years of full-time equivalent relevant work experience*;
or

(b) hold an AQF Level 7 Bachelor qualification or above in a relevant discipline** and at least two years of full-time equivalent relevant workl experience*;
or

(c) hold an approved AQF Level 6 Advanced Diploma in a relevant discipline** from an Australian TAFE or Registered Training Organisation and have at least four years of full-time equivalent relevant work experience*;
or

(d) hold an approved AQF Level 5 Diploma in a relevant discipline** from an Australian TAFE or Registered Training Organisation and have at least six years of full-time equivalent relevant work experience*;
or

(e) have at least five years of full-time equivalent relevant work experience*;
or

(f) hold an AQF Level 7 Bachelor qualification or above, or overseas equivalent, in a relevant or non-relevant discipline.

*Relevant work experience refers to a position of responsibility in any organisational or industry context. Candidates applying for Rules (a) to (e) must submit a Statement of Service for their work experience from their employer.

**Relevant disciplines include, but are not limited to, Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Leadership, Human Resources Management, and Management.

What you will learn

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. demonstrate specialised knowledge of contemporary business-related theory and practice in order to promote sustainable business in a globalised economy;
  2. identify and critically assess disciplinary concepts and issues;
  3. identify, critically evaluate and synthesise relevant information drawn from a range of sources in order to analyse complex business related issues, and develop solutions; and
  4. demonstrate proficiency in information transfer in written and oral formats at a professional level, either independently or working collaboratively.
