About this course

The Undergraduate Certificate in Professional Development is a program of study designed for those who need an undergraduate qualification that will prepare them to transition into, or within, careers or for further study.

The Undergraduate Certificate in Professional Development has been developed in response to the community and industry need as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. The certificate allows you the freedom to choose from a range of specialisations. Within the core unit, the DYPP100, you are guided through a process that lets you clarify and articulate your next career transition that will best position you for the future workplace.

The Certificate provides you with skills and knowledge in a range of disciplinary areas. The course equips graduates with creative, critical and analytical skills to assist with future employment or to pursue further study.

Candidates receive support from the Academic Concierge staff during their enrolment and study within the core unit DYPP100.

Graduates of the Undergraduate Certificate in Professional Development may be eligible to apply to the equivalent Diploma or Bachelor through an articulated pathway.

To be eligible for the government funding associated with Undergraduate Certificates, as a response to the COVID-19 crisis; students undertake four (4) units over Trimester 2, 2020. Enrolment in any following trimesters may not be subject to the same level of government funding. The Undergraduate Certificate must be completed by the end of 2021.

Entry requirements

1. A candidate shall be qualified for admission (see Admission Undergraduate and Postgraduate (Coursework) Rule and Admission Undergraduate and Postgraduate (Coursework) Procedures) which includes:

(a) completed Australian senior secondary studies; or

(b) completed overseas secondary qualifications or tertiary qualifications deemed equivalent to Australian qualifications; or

(c) completed Australian post-secondary or tertiary qualifications; or

(d) completed an approved admission scheme or pathway; or

(e) satisfy the requirements of an approved interinstitution agreement; or

(f) obtained other equivalent qualifications and/or vocational experience; or

(g) satisfy the requirements for non-standard admission.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  2. demonstrate subject specific knowledge of discipline/area of study with the ability to communicate and/or collaborate appropriately with a range of stakeholders; and
