About this course

Want to address global population health issues and join a workforce that operates across borders? Unlike other Australian undergraduate public health programs, the Bachelor of International Public Health (BIPH) is internationally integrated with emphasis on courses aimed at improving the health of populations worldwide. Students explore a diverse range of case studies spanning international contexts and population health issues and priorities. Courses focus on infectious disease challenges, Indigenous and environmental health, women and children's health, and global chronic disease prevention, while also supporting the development of key skills like epidemiology and statistics. International Public Health students will also complete a capstone experience in the final year. This may include the option of either an internship placement, study abroad tour or research project.

This course includes unique coursework from two of the world's leading universities - UNSW Sydney and Arizona State University (ASU). Students have the option to complete some subjects at the UNSW Sydney campus or complete the degree fully online. You'll study with students from Australia, the United States and around the world, bringing a global perspective to your education. The Bachelor of International Public Health provides a starting point to a career in International Public Health or International Development.

How to apply

Applications for undergraduate study from domestic students (Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, Australian permanent humanitarian visa holders and New Zealand citizens) are processed by the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC). Visit the Apply section of the UAC website and you can nominate up to five degrees in order of preference, with the first being your most desired degree and university. On-time applications for admission usually close at the end of September each year for Term 1 admission. Late applications can be submitted, but a late fee will apply. For study starting in Term 1, the majority of offers are made in December and January. Visit the UAC website for key dates for admission outside of Term 1.
