About this course

The Bachelor of Tourism, Hospitality and Events provides students with a cutting edge learning experience that is both academically rigorous and industry relevant. Through our research led teaching, students graduate with the business acumen and employability skills to enjoy a vibrant and successful career in tourism, hospitality and events management and leadership.

Students can choose to study a stand-alone degree at the University of Newcastle (Bachelor of Tourism, Hospitality and Events). Students can also combine their university degree with an Advanced Diploma at TAFE NSW, allowing them to graduate with both an Advanced Diploma and a Bachelor of Tourism, Hospitality and Events, in just three years.

Students selecting the latter option, will study courses at both TAFE NSW and the University of Newcastle for the first 18 months, and then study full-time at the University of Newcastle for the final 18 months. This option allows students to finish their TAFE NSW Advanced Diploma in the first 18 months of the three-year program, fast-tracking their employability in the industry.
