What you will learn

The program consists of four courses, one core course in pathophysiology and health assessment, which forms the basis of specialist practice. The remaining three courses give you the option of specialising in one of eight areas including:

  • Acute Care (medical/surgical)
  • Emergency
  • Critical Care
  • Mental Health
  • Public Health
  • Older Person Care
  • Perinatal, Infant, Child and Youth Mental Health
  • Paediatric Child Health Care

Within the program are core and advanced clinical competencies that are based on the standards of practice published by the respective colleges, e.g. College of Emergency Nursing Australia (CENA).
