What you will learn

The Master of Environmental Risk Assessment and Remediation will equip you with specialised skills to enable you to comprehensively assess a contaminated site.

You will follow guidelines for contaminated site assessment (e.g. NEPM-ASC) and jurisdictional legislation regulating management of contaminated land. You will carry out desktop research for preliminary site investigation (PSI), develop a conceptual site model (CSM) and produce a sampling plan for a detailed site investigation using data quality objectives (DQO's). You will also evaluate contaminated site data to identify contaminants fate and pathways, assess the risk presented by the contaminant(s) detected on site, and determine the need for further investigation or remediation.
