Study the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science major in UniSQ's Bachelor of Information Technology and learn to implement AI algorithms and techniques using high-level programming languages to solve real-world problems.
Develop cross-disciplinary skills to capture, process and interpret large volumes of data through a variety of statistical methods and data mining applications. Examine and reflect on the issues of privacy and ethics of data science.
Benefit from UniSQ's connections with industry partners and gain work-integrated learning experience during a final-year capstone course.

Professional accreditation

Our Bachelor of Information Technology degree is accredited at professional level by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and, through the Seoul Accord, is recognised in other countries. The Seoul Accord is a multi-lateral agreement that allows ACS accreditation to be recognised globally. This means when you graduate, your degree will be recognised by other countries who are members of the Accord.

Pre-requisites

To study this degree we assume you have sound knowledge in:

English (Units 3 & 4, C), and
General Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C)

We assume that your knowledge is equivalent to a grade C or higher in Units 3 and 4 at high school level (typically studied in Year 12). Find out more about assumed knowledge.

It is also recommended that you have studied Mathematical Methods (Units 3 & 4, C), or equivalent.

Special entry schemes for admissions may increase your Rank, through the allocation of additional points in certain circumstances, such as educational disadvantage where you live, and subjects you passed.

Inherent requirements

English language requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

You may be eligible for recognition of prior learning if you have previously studied or have relevant work experience. This will help to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.

The Artificial Intelligence and Data Science major gives graduates the essential skills and state-of-the-art knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, social media infrastructure and cyber security-related ICT industries, such as healthcare, national and Government database security.
