Do you have an interest in science but didn't complete Year 12 or are new to study? Designed to give you an introduction to the scientific environment, UniSQ's Diploma of Multidisciplinary Studies is the perfect start to university studies.
This diploma provides the opportunity to sample four courses from a number of science areas including psychology, computing, astronomy, biology and maths to progress your career.

Further study

As a graduate, you will be eligible to apply for direct entry into a range of UniSQ undergraduate degrees including the Bachelor of Science or the Bachelor of Multidisciplinary Studies. If you choose to go on to further studies the science subjects that you choose could also count as credit toward your undergraduate degree.

English language requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

With general science knowledge to prepare you for a career in science, you may find work as a laboratory assistant, research assistant, case supervisor assistant, child care worker, counsellor, human resources assistant, health & promotion officer, therapy aide, environmental health assistant and technical officer.

Course structure

Degree structure

To complete this degree students must complete 8 units. Most courses (similar to 'subjects') are valued at 1 unit. To study full-time you would usually complete 4 units per study period.

Once accepted into the Diploma, you will need to complete online diagnostic tests in mathematics, e-literacy, and English communication skills to assist staff in determining your level of reading comprehension, written expression, and mathematical understanding.

Students who have completed four units of study within the Diploma may be able to exit out of the degree with an Undergraduate Certificate of University Studies qualification.
