About this course

This program builds on career entry undergraduate studies in Paramedicine to expand the clinical knowledge and scope of paramedics, enabling them to further their professional careers in areas addressed by a range of specialisations. The course has been developed in close consultation with public and private industry sectors to ensure the graduate meets the needs of the profession in a broad range of settings.

Entry requirements

Domestic:

To be eligible for an offer applicants must have:

An AQF level 7 (or equivalent) career entry level undergraduate degree in Paramedicine from an approved tertiary institution.

OR

An AQF level 5 or 6 qualification that meets registration requirements as a paramedic in Australia AND an AQF level 7 undergraduate degree from an approved tertiary institution in a cognate health profession.

In addition, applicants must:

Have current AHPRA registration (or equivalent as determined by the College of Health and Medicine) in paramedicine without conditions or notations.

  • 1 Apply advanced paramedic knowledge, advanced clinical reasoning and decision making necessary for the management and provision of advanced, effective and comprehensive health care.
  • 2 Apply the interdisciplinary skills and knowledge to participate effectively as a paramedic in the planning, implementation and management of health care programs and services within the community;
  • 3 Explain the legal, ethical and political dimensions of practice within the discipline and specialty area of advanced paramedicine;
  • Credit for prior study or work
