The Undergraduate Certificate in Applied Technologies is your opportunity to get hands-on experience with real-world issues facing almost every industry today, including information security, data analytics for cyber security and digital design. You'll be introduced to contemporary technologies, learn the principles of designing and building programs using the Python language, explore how computer networks are setup and customised for different industry needs, and you'll learn how data management software can improve decision making and communication in your workplace.

In fact, it's projected that demand for technology workers will grow by 100,000 between 2024 and 2027*. Developed in consultation with industry experts, the Undergraduate Certificate in Applied Technologies is designed to give you the latest skills and knowledge to hit the ground running as you enter Australia's booming technology industry.

Domestic applicants who recently completed secondary education (in the past two years)
This course does not use ATAR as part of the admission process. To be an eligible for an offer, applicants must have completed the Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE) or an equivalent qualification.
Domestic applicants with higher education study
To be eligible for an offer, you must have:

To be eligible for an offer, you must have completed a completed Certificate III or higher (or equivalent) in any discipline.
Applications on the basis of work or life experience
Applicants without senior secondary, tertiary or VET / TAFE study can complete a personal competency statement.
Applicants may be eligible for an offer if they have relevant work and / or life experiences which demonstrate a capacity to succeed in this course.

The technology industry is currently booming in Australia, with an estimated 792,000 people to be working in the technology workforce by 2024*. This means that roles in ICT Support and Testing are estimated to grow by 28.9%, Network and Support Professions by 24.5%, and Software and Application Programmers by 23.4% by the end of 2024^.
By completing the Undergraduate Certificate in Applied Technologies, you're learning skills for the future which will introduce you up to a world of opportunities. This course also offers you the opportunity to transition into further study, with full credit into a Diploma of Applied Business, Diploma of Applied Science, or Diploma of Applied Technologies (Specialisation)

The Undergraduate Certificate In Applied Technologies comprises 4 x 12.5 credit point units:
Passes in units in other incomplete courses in this University or another approved tertiary institution may be credited towards the undergraduate certificate and a course plan developed to detail the units required by the student to qualify for the undergraduate Certificate. The maximum credit granted will be in accordance with the limits as stated in the Student Participation and Attainment Ordinance.
