Advanced Diploma of Accounting

This course will provide you with the training and knowledge necessary for a range of career paths in the finance industry.

Studying accounting at Victoria University Polytechnic will equip you with the skills and knowledge for accounting roles in Australia or overseas. You could gain employment within small, medium and large accounting practices and corporations, the public sector and not-for-profit organisations.

To be awarded the FNS60217 Advanced Diploma of Accounting, a student must successfully complete a total of fourteen (14) units of competency, comprising of:

• three (3) core units, and;
• eleven (11) elective units, of which:

• five (5) units must be selected from the elective units listed in the FNS60217 Advanced Diploma of Accounting qualification;
• six (6) units, may be selected from the elective units listed in the FNS60217 Advanced Diploma of Accounting or from a Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma, in any currently endorsed training package or accredited course, provided they do not duplicate the outcome of another unit chosen for the qualification.

Electives must be industry relevant as well as be approved by Victoria University Polytechnic.

You may be able to complete your qualification sooner through formal recognition of your existing skills. This is known as Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

To receive RPL, we assess your previous work, education and life experiences against recognised qualifications. Applications for RPL can be made prior to enrolling.
