This course is designed for those wishing to obtain formal registration under Victorian building legislation. You'll learn to take responsibility for the complete construction of a building.
You'll develop specialist skills and knowledge to run a small-to-medium construction business. To be awarded CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building), a student must successfully complete a total of sixteen (16) units of competency, comprising of:
thirteen (13) core units, and;
three (3) elective units, of which:
all three (3) elective units may be selected from the elective units listed in the CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) qualification, or;
two (2) of the three (3) elective units may be selected from Certificate III, Certificate IV or Diploma qualifications from another endorsed training package or from the CPC08 Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package, provided that at least one unit is from Certificate IV and the industry context is maintained.
Electives must be industry relevant as well as be approved by the Polytechnic.
You may be able to complete your qualification sooner through formal recognition of your existing skills. This is known as Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
To receive RPL, we assess your previous work, education and life experiences against recognised qualifications. Applications for RPL can be made prior to enrolling.
