This course will provide you with the training and knowledge necessary for a range of accounting career pathways. You'll become proficient in the use of accounting software.

Learning from our expert staff, you'll gain the skills and confidence to perform a range of accounting duties including:

  • providing financial and business performance information
  • preparing income tax returns
  • managing budgets and forecasts
  • providing management accounting information.

This course has after-hours delivery available Tuesday-Thursday, 6-9pm (subject to change).

Course structure

The course structure comprises the following core and elective units. These electives have been selected based on industry needs, graduate pathways and/or student and teacher feedback.
To be awarded the FNS50217 Diploma of Accounting, a student must successfully complete a total of eleven (11) units of competency, comprising of:

  • six (6) core units, and;
  • five (5) elective units, of which:
  • three (3) units must be selected from the electives listed in the FNS50217 Diploma of Accounting qualification;
  • two (2) units may be selected from the electives listed in the FNS50217 Diploma of Accounting qualification or from a Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma in any currently endorsed training package or accredited course, provided they do not duplicate the outcome of another unit chosen for the qualification.

Elective units must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the overall integrity of the AQF alignment, and contribute to a valid vocational outcome.
