Undergraduate Certificate in Health Science

This course gives you a recognised qualification within six months - providing a fast track towards a new career.

You'll graduate with foundational knowledge of the Australian healthcare system and the context within which the system functions. In particular, you'll be able to:

• source information, understand it and communicate it in a culturally respectful and sensitive manner
• communicate basic health science evidence in a variety of formats
• explain the basic principles and concepts that underpin public health and wellness issues in Australia
• discuss the basic workings of the Australian healthcare system.

If you decide to keep studying to aim for higher roles, you may progress to the Bachelor of Health Science.

Graduates of this course can pursue careers in public health, health organisations and education, in places such as:

• government
• international organisations such as the UN, WHO, UNICEF, ACSM
• not-for-profit organisations
• academic and research institutions.

To aim for a higher role, you can continue studying towards your bachelor degree.

To attain the Undergraduate Certificate in Health Science students will be required to complete:

• 48 credit points Core units
