Entry Requirements

To gain entry into VTP511 Operate and Maintain Chainsaws, candidates are required to:

  • be 16 years or older and physically capable of using a chainsaw; and
  • not be attending secondary school; and
  • be able to demonstrate appropriate language, literacy, and numeracy skills and knowledge to undertake this course. This is demonstrated if you have completed a qualification deemed equivalent to an Australian Year 11 or higher, Australian Certificate III or higher, or by completing a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) assessment.

To gain entry candidates require:

  • To be employed as electricians and others employed in the electrical services industry.
  • Must have completed pre-requisite units for UETDRMP007: HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation, plus UEECD0007 Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace or UETDREL006 Work safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker.
