As a part of this course, students will undertake work integrated learning. To participate in work integrated learning, students may require the following vaccinations:

Additional vaccinations may also be required. This will depend on the type of placement site and the site location, as different states have different vaccinations regulations and requirements. For instance, students who undertake placement in remote Australia may require the Hepatitis A and Japanese encephalitis vaccination. Placement in Western Australia and Northern Territory require students also have the MRSA - Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus vaccination before commencing placement, and some states also require students to have the Influenza Vaccination (some states have this as a requirement and other states this is recommended but not mandatory).

Industry Placement

Students must undertake an industry placement. The minimum duration of the placement is three months (12 weeks). If the placement is not a full-time job, the duration may be extended to six months. Students may need to travel to and arrange appropriate accommodation in the location of the placement.

Students who do not obtain a work placement can change to CQ18 Bachelor of Information Technology.

CQUniversity's Bachelor of Medical Imaging is designed to prepare you to work as a Radiographer and enables you to provide safe and accurate imaging examinations in a wide range of clinical environments.
Entry Requirements

When applying, you must demonstrate that you have met the listed Entry Requirements and English Language Proficiency requirements.

After you have applied and enrolled in this course, you will need to be able to meet the Security and Health Requirements as these generally relate to work-integrated learning activities that form part of your course. You will be provided with more information about security and health requirements after enrolling in the relevant units that these relate to.

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement The COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory to be eligible to attend a WIL placement for this course. Students will be required to provide evidence of having completed a COVID-19 vaccination schedule by the closing date prior to a WIL placement. The vaccine received must be a vaccine approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) of Australia.

Entry Requirements

English Language Profiency Requirements:

If you were not born in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa or United States of America, you are required to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements set by the University. Applicants are required to provide evidence of completion within the last 5 years of:

  • a secondary qualification (Year 11 and 12, or equivalent), or
  • Bachelor level qualification study for a period of at least 2 years fulltime with a minimum overall GPA of 4.0

Completed within Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, South Africa, Ireland, or United states of America, which will meet the English proficiency.

If you do not satisfy any of the above you will need to undertake an English language proficiency test and achieve the following scores as below:

  • an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic) overall band score of at least 7.0 overall with a minimum 7.0 in each subset; or
  • an Occupational English Test with Grades A or B only in each of the four components; or
  • a Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE - Academic) - Requires an overall score of 65 with no sub-score less than 65; or
  • a Test of English as a Foreign Language internet-based test (TOEFL) iBT - 94 or better overall and no score less than 24 for listening and reading, 27 for writing and 23 for speaking.

English test results remain valid for no more than two years between final examination date and the date of commencement of study, and must appear on a single result certificate.

Security RequirementsStudents attending clinical placements in Queensland must obtain a Blue Card (Working with Children Check).Health RequirementsStudents must provide evidence of completion of vaccinations as stipulated prior to placement attendance, in accordance with the state Department of Health requirements for clinical students. Students must also maintain a current CPR certificate and complete an annual occupational health and safety induction. Students must also complete a fitness to practice declaration prior to each clinical placement.
