Course structure

To qualify for the award of Bachelor of Communication (Public Relations), a student must complete 24 credit points including:

  • 12 credit points of core units (11 units)
  • 3 course electives from list A (level 1)
  • 3 course electives from list B (level 2/3)
  • 6 credit points of electives (of which two must be at level 2 or 3)
  • no more than 10 credit points at level 1
  • no fewer than 6 credit points at level 3
  • Academic Integrity AAI018
  • Academic Integrity (0-credit-point compulsory unit)

Credit for prior study or work

The University aims to provide students with as much credit as possible for approved prior study or informal learning which exceeds the normal entrance requirements for the course and is within the constraints of the course regulations. Students are required to complete a minimum of one-third of the course at Deakin University, or four credit points, whichever is the greater. In the case of certificates, including graduate certificates, a minimum of two credit points within the course must be completed at Deakin.
