To apply for admission into the Master of Health Services Management, a student should:

  • hold a suitable Bachelor degree in a related field (Public Health, Health Services Management, Environmental Health, Allied Health, Medicine, Nursing, Psychology, Clinical, Research and Biomedical Health) OR
  • hold a suitable Level 8 qualification (Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Bachelor Honours Degree) in a related field (Public Health; Health Services Management; Environmental Health; Allied Health, Medicine, Nursing, Psychology, Clinical, Research and Biomedical Health). Students admitted with one of these qualifications will be admitted to the Master of Health Services Management with Advanced Standing and required to complete an 80 credit points Masters OR
  • have completed one of the following Griffith Graduate Certificates*:
    • Graduate Certificate in Digital Health (3336)
    • Graduate Certificate in Health Services Management (3082) or Graduate Certificate in Health Services Management (3317)
    • Graduate Certificate in Clinical Leadership (3280)

* Students applying for admission via this pathway may be eligible for Advanced Standing or specified credit of up to 40 credit points depending on courses completed in the Griffith Graduate Certificate in Health Services Management program. Credit applications for other Graduate Certificate programs are assessed individually and will require assessment of similarity in learning outcomes.

Applicants with extensive experience in health services management who do not hold qualifications listed in the requirement s above may be admitted to the Graduate Certificate in Health Service Management, Graduate Certificate of Digital Health or Graduate Certificate in Clinical Leadership, with progress to the Master of Health Services Management being dependant on a minimum pass grade in all courses.

This program is designed to provide students with an opportunity to undertake advanced study and supervised research work in Public Health within the context of a multidisciplinary cohort. The scope of Public Health is inclusive of a broad range of specialties in many health related disciplines.

Professional Entry pathway

To be eligible for admission, an applicant must have the following:

  • at least an AQF Associate Degree or equivalent (as assessed by the Program Director) in an area relevant to the degree majors

OR

  • at least five years equivalent full-time work experience* in the Aviation industry AND

    EITHER
  • professional Aviation industry qualifications (for example, Air Traffic Controller, Licensed Aeronautical Maintenance Engineer or Commercial Pilot)
    OR
  • a technical Aviation industry certification plus at least a Certificate IV level qualification in a field relevant to the degree majors where the assessed learning outcomes are judged to be equally acceptable within the structure of the University award (for example, Cabin Crew).

* Those entering via work experience are required to submit two references from previous or current employers confirming employment as a professional within their organisation. This letter should be provided on company letterhead verifying the approximate length of professional employment within their organisation.

Upon acceptance, students will be granted 120 credit points of advanced standing on the basis of their qualifications and experience.

To be eligible for admission to this Honours program, consideration will be given to the following criteria:

  • A GPA of at least 5.0 (credit level) over the second and third year of the Bachelor degree;*
  • have achieved a GPA of at least 5.0 in the major studio components of the second and third years of the undergraduate degree
  • have completed 30 credit points in theory in the second and third years of the undergraduate degree with a GPA of at least 5.0
  • A suitable Research Proposal (please see questions in the QCA Undergraduate Honours Admissions Guide) and the resources available to support the candidature. This proposal should include a portfolio containing images of relevant work and demonstrate a strong and sustained studio practice (please see criteria in the QCA Undergraduate Honours Admissions Guide).
  • The availability of an appropriate proposed supervisor. The confirmation of your Supervisor will be approved upon entry into the program. At times, where the nominated Supervisor is no longer able to supervise the project, a suitable Supervisor with be allocated by the Honours Program Director.
