The Master of Integrated Water Management creates water leaders by drawing on international teaching and research from many fields to provide a trans-disciplinary, whole-of-water-cycle approach to water management.
Entry Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Integrated Water Management, applicants must hold:

  • a Bachelor degree in a field relevant to water management
  • OR a Graduate Certificate in Integrated Water Management and a minimum of one year practical experience in a related field (these students will be eligible for 40 credit points of advanced standing towards the program)
  • OR a Graduate Diploma of Integrated Water Management and a minimum of two years practical experience in a related field (these students will be eligible for 80 credit points of advanced standing towards the program).

Note: Further credit in addition to that awarded on the basis of advanced standing is not available.

Graduate Certificate

The Graduate Certificate in Emergency Nursing program enables registered nurses to develop advanced knowledge and specialist skills in the emergency nursing environment and addresses the core competencies related to emergency nursing.
Entry Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Emergency Nursing, applicants must:

  • hold a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent degree from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing)
    AND
  • current or temporary unrestricted registration as a nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
    AND
  • be working with emergency presentations for a minimum of two days per week.

Degrees from overseas institutions must be assessed as equivalent to a recognised Australian accredited qualification.

Please be aware that Griffith University does not arrange registration or employment.

The School of Nursing and Midwifery has instituted a Recognition of Prior Experience (RPE) procedure for registered nurses who do not have an undergraduate qualification. Applicants will be assessed on their ability to demonstrate eligibility requirements. The School of Nursing and Midwifery will determine eligibility for admission into the requested program based on application, curriculum vitae and referee reports.

Graduate Diploma

The aim and focus of the program is to prepare students for a career in the aviation industry by developing their knowledge and skills in the practical aspects of commercial aircraft operations coupled with appropriate technical qualifications for industry employment.
Entry Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Diploma of Flight Management, students must:

  • have met the graduate requirements or have graduated from any of the following programs:
    • Bachelor of Aviation (1517)
    • Bachelor of Aviation (1028) - Aviation stream
    • Bachelor of Aviation Management (1367)
    • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/Bachelor of Aviation (1584)
    • Bachelor of Aviation/Bachelor of Information Technology (1610)
  • hold a current Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Class 1 Medical Certificate for a Commercial Pilot Licence - the medical must be carried out by a Designated Aviation Medical Examiner (DAME) - a full list of the DAMEs is available on the CASA website;
  • have an Aviation Reference Number (ARN);
  • successfully complete the Griffith University Pilot Aptitude Assessment*;
  • successfully complete the Graduate Diploma of Flight Management selection interview.

All students who apply for entry into the Graduate Diploma of Flight Management are required to complete the Selection Supplement and submit it with their application.

It is strongly recommended that students intending to apply for admission to the Graduate Diploma of Flight Management attend and complete specified preparatory training in the professional development program referred to as Mentoring Aviators through Educational Support (MATES) whilst enrolled in their undergraduate degree.

* Information on undertaking the Griffith Aviation Pilot Aptitude Assessment will be available through the MATES program.

Pathway options

The Graduate Diploma of Flight Management will offer either Flight Instructor Rating (FIR) or Instrument Rating (IR) pathway.

High quality civil flight training organisations and military flight training programs look for specific attributes in the selection of candidates for flight instructor training. These attributes are:

  • demonstrated maturity to take on a teaching role; and
  • well-developed leadership and personal qualities; and
  • demonstrated high level flying skills and high-level aeronautical knowledge.

Selection for the Flight Instructor Rating (FIR) pathway will be achieved by:

  • using the maturity, leadership and personal attributes demonstrated in the Graduate Diploma of Flight Management selection interview by the candidate; and
  • using the leadership and personal qualities attributes demonstrated in the PAA by the candidate; and
  • using the flight and ground training results achieved by the candidate in Flight Practicum 1-6 in the Graduate Diploma of Flight Management program.

All students will be required to complete the core Flight Practicums up to and including Flight Practicum 6. At this point, students who wish to follow the Flight Instructor Rating (FIR) pathway will be selected against the above criteria.

All students will complete a further three Flight Practicums to complete the program.

Graduate Certificate

The Graduate Certificate in Advanced Water Practice is managed and led by the International WaterCentre (IWC). The IWC is a key capacity building organisation in the global water sector and dedicated to providing education and training to promote whole-of-water cycle approaches to water management.

To be eligible for an offer of admission made through Open Universities Australia (OUA) for a Commonwealth Supported Place at Griffith University, an applicant must:

  • meet the criteria for a domestic Australian student; AND have one of the following:
  • have completed at least two Bachelor of Business core subjects with a minimum GPA of 4.0 completed within the last 12 months at the time of application for admission OR
  • achieved a minimum ATAR/Rank of 65.00 through the completion of senior secondary studies OR

Graduate Certificate

This program enables managers with extensive relevant experience but without a prior undergraduate degree in a business discipline to advance their management thinking through four foundation courses as a stepping-stone to more advanced courses within the Master of Business Administration.
Entry Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Business Administration, an applicant must:

  • have a minimum of six years equivalent full-time work experience which includes:
    • four years of relevant work experience and
    • two years in a role demonstrating leadership experience.

Leadership can include direct supervisory experience and/or change management in an organisational or project-specific setting.

Evidence of work experience must include a detailed work history (roles, responsibilities and achievements).

Upon request, applicants may be asked to provide:

  • An Applicant Statement of Leadership Experience (maximum 750 words). To demonstrate relevance of work experience, applicants will need to provide a statement detailing examples of applied leadership skills and how their experiences will be complemented by the Graduate Certificate in Business Administration program along with a sound knowledge of the Griffith Business School values.

The Master of Professional Engineering Leadership is designed for Engineers Australia Chartered Members.
Entry Requirements

Applicants for the Master of Professional Engineering Leadership must:

  • possess an accredited or recognised four-year Bachelor degree in Engineering from a recognised university (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing)
  • AND have been awarded Chartered Professional Engineer Status (CPEng) by Engineers Australia.

Upon acceptance, students will be granted 40 credit points of advanced standing on the basis of their current Chartered Status through Engineers Australia.
