If you want to learn the art of blacksmithing this is the place to start. During this one day (seven hours) introduction course you will gain an insight into safe working conditions while forging small projects by heating steel in a charcoal forge, turning the crank handle to deliver air just like a traditional Blacksmith.
You will use the anvil to hammer out shapes and have the opportunity to make an artistic marshmallow toaster, a bottle opener, or maybe a gum nut.
Later in the day, you will try forging under the pneumatic hammer (just as a professional Blacksmith would) and heating your steel in a gas forge. Assistance and guidance will be provided so you have a project to take home at the end of the day.
Our Pneumatic hammer is the same type that a professional Blacksmithing workshop would use but scaled down to suit our projects.
