Strengthen your skills to advance your welding career

This course will provide you with the required knowledge of safe and appropriate welding practices to meet the theory component of Australian Standard 1796 (AS1796) and covers the following units:

  • MEM05078 Apply welding principles
  • MEM06007 Perform basic incidental heat/quenching, tempering and annealing

The skill set is designed for apprentices in heavy or light fabrication who are nearing completion of their TAFE studies and others with a suitable trade qualification, or relevant experience working as a tradesperson in the welding and fabrication industry, who are looking to further their welding knowledge.
