Designed to build practical and highly transferrable skills across a range of industry contexts, including drawing, painting, installation, printmaking, digital media, sculpture, web design, photography, business and exhibition, this qualification will teach you to:

Academic requirements

Applicants must have the conceptual, technical and organisational skills to create and present work in their chosen creative form. Skills and knowledge may have been acquired through experience in a creative field or formal study.
NOTE Preference will be given to those who have completed the Diploma of Visual Arts.

Supporting documents may include:

  • a Certificate of Completion for the Diploma of Visual Arts (if not completed at RMIT)
  • a Statement of Attainment or transcript of results for previous study (if not completed at RMIT)
  • a supporting folio that demonstrates conceptual, technical and organisational skills through the creation and presentation of work in your chosen creative form.

Successful completion of the Diploma of Visual Arts or equivalent qualification.

English language requirements

To study this program you will need to complete one of the following English proficiency tests:

  • IELTS (Academic): minimum overall band of 5.5 (with no individual band below 5.0)
  • TOEFL (Internet Based Test - IBT): minimum overall score of 50 (with minimum of 5 in Reading, 5 in Listening, 14 in Speaking and 15 in Writing)
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE (A)): minimum score of 42 (with no communication band less than 36)
  • C1 Advanced: minimum of 162 with no less than 154 in any component.
