Certificate
You will learn through practical, hands-on classes and technical exercises in theatres, classrooms, studios and other locations. You will spend approximately 25 hours per week on campus and classes consist of 20-25 students.
All classes have a strong focus on industry-based practical skills, which you will be assessed on in either groups or individually.
Teachers have many years of industry experience and graduates and current industry practitioners sometimes take guest classes.
The course is taught by academic staff who have many years of industry and teaching experience. You will also be introduced to industry partners who visit classes and will guide you to develop a network of classmates and industry connections who will become your colleagues

Studio and equipment details:
RMIT holds a vast range of professional equipment across lighting, sound and vision. This items such as the M-Series lighting consoles, a range of LCD, LED and DLP projectors, truss screens with drape kits and Albeton Live and DMXIS software.
We also have a profession sound equipment including an Allen and Heath QU24 digital desk and a Digico SD11 Mixing Desk amongst others. We also have a range of microphones.
RMIT has fully digital world class TV studios.
Some of the equipment includes Panasonic high definition and 4 k camcorders, Panasonic P2 field recorders, Adobe Premier and After Effects software and a Riedel Mediornet Optical Fibre stage box signal distribution system.

Certificate IV - 1 year full-time
1.5 years part-time (July intake only)
Diploma - 1 year full-time
The Certificate IV program runs over one year (2 semesters). Upon successful completion you will be admitted to the Diploma which also runs for one year (2 semesters).
