About this course

The Diploma of Marketing and Communication offers you an intensive, unique, industry-led approach to helping you develop creative and business communication skills. You'll learn how to interpret market trends, and design and implement creative marketing and communication strategies, including specialised media planning and social media engagement.

Drawing on RMIT's local, national and global relationships, you will have the opportunity to work with and develop strategic marketing and communications for multiple industry partners as part of the Work-Integrated Learning projects within the program. Some of the project work you will work on with industry includes:

  • developing creative and strategic integrated marketing and communications for local, national or global campaigns
  • building skills in project coordination and events marketing
  • using online business communication tools to work with teams
  • building intercultural communication skills working with various clients, brands and teams
  • develop go-to-market social media engagement strategies and advertisements
  • pitch and present a media plan and strategy to a global media agency, working with live client briefs.

Entry requirements

Successful completion of the RMIT Certificate IV in Marketing and Communication, RMIT Certificate IV in Marketing, RMIT Certificate IV in Advertising (or equivalent), provided specific prerequisite studies have been completed:

  • BSBCMM401 Make a presentation
  • BSBCRT401 Articulate, present and debate ideas
  • BSBMGT407 Apply digital solutions to work processes
  • BSBMKG417 Apply marketing communication across a convergent industry
  • BSBMKG418 Develop and apply knowledge of marketing communication industry.
