About this course

Do you have a love of Australia's natural environment, a fascination with flora and fauna, and a passion to protect our plants, parklands and wildlife for future generations?

.

This nationally recognised course will equip you with the specialised skillset you need to move into more senior and supervisory roles in your chosen field within Conservation and Ecosystem Management.

Be guided by our expert team of lecturers who are industry professionals, as you learn high-level skills in protecting ecosystems and preserving the natural environment. You'll be trained in how to recommend plants, conduct site inspections for ecological restoration works and produce land management maps. You'll develop skills in implementation of revegetation, compiling pest management plans and working safely with chemicals, as well as gaining knowledge of culturally significant places.

Plant the seeds for a meaningful career, gain post-trade skills and get job ready for roles such as Senior Conservation Worker, Weed Management Leading Hand or National Park and Landcare Leading Hand.

Study in specialist facilities:

Learn in our on-site native bushland which acts as an outdoor classroom and dedicated purpose-built facilities which simulate real-world working environments, including a native nursery production space featuring cutting and seed production zones and large work sheds.

Facilities also include specialised sheltered nursery areas which propagate natives for ecosystem restoration and rehabilitation, under supervision of a project leader. Students can learn by getting hands-on with industry-specific, field-oriented practical activities in conservation work and by operating machinery and equipment.
