About this course

When you complete the Certificate III in Individual Support you will be on your way to a career as an aged care assistant. You will gain the knowledge and skills to work effectively in the aged care industry, caring for the elderly, enabling them to maintain independence, understanding and supporting people with dementia, safety procedures, ethical behaviour, infection control, working with cultural diversity, and workplace health and safety.

This course includes a compulsory work placement. The units in Traineeships are customised according to the individual Training Agreement that is negotiated with the employer and may vary (within the Qualification rules) in each case.

South Regional TAFE is transitioning this qualification to the new training package in 2024. Students will be enrolled into the new units developed to meet current and future industry needs. Fees may vary for courses transitioning to the new training package.

OLNA or NAPLAN 9 Band 8 C Grades in Year 10 English and Maths or equivalent Certificate I or Certificate II
