About this course

This qualification reflects the role of workers who assist teachers and support student learning in a range of classroom settings under the guidance of a teacher or other educational professional. At this level, workers may be involved in facilitation of learning for a range of instructional groupings, including for those students in need of additional support. In these roles, the education support worker sources and analyses information from diverse sources, may work with limited direct supervision and could provide guidance to other workers.

Entry requirements

School Leaver Non-School Leaver AQF
C Grades in Year 11 WACE General English, and OLNA; or NAPLAN 9 Band 8 C Grades in Year 11 English and Maths or equivalent Certificate II or Certificate III

Please note some campuses may require you to attend a pre-enrolment interview.

Please note selected campuses require you to hold a Certificate III in School Based Education Support or similar to be accepted into this course.

Prior to undertaking work-placement Students over the age of 18 will be required to:

  • Obtain a Working with Children Check (WWC)
  • Complete a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) obtained through the Department of Education.
